My date command is one hour behind.
It says mdt, the correct zone, but it's behind by one hour.
I reset it, but when I rebooted, it went back.
What is probably wrong?
Still using redhat 5.2, but not for long.
Thanks.

Hi Brian,
Look at the manpage for hwclock. You will need to run it in order to
synchronize your hardware clock with Linux's idea of what the time is.
You probably need to enter either
hwclock --systohc
if your clock is set to your local time, or
hwclock --systohc --utc
if your clock is set to GMT.

Hahahahahahahahaha!!
I suspect the problem is a time zone interpretation error.
The info date or man date commands should tell you how the
system stores and evaluates the date interms of the known (or
assumed) timezone.
