I'm about to reinstall Emacs, having reinstalled my sstem due to its breaking its previously breaking its poor electronic neck. I'm installing Slackware v3.10 from CD, but since it only comes with Emacs 19.31, I'm installing Emacs 20.2 from the GNU source-code CDRom. I used this previously when I didn't have X, but this time I'm installing X as well. Can I compile Emacs with the standard "./configure", "make" and "make install", or do I need to tell it explicitly to use X libraries already on my system? Thanks. Ben
