Hi, there,
I purchased the Redhat version of linux with the two cd roms in it and a
big 600 page manual. I looked at the cd's for the guide and didn't find
it. Is it there, and how do I get it? I tried scanning the manual with
the Open book, and the book is too thick. Thank you.

The 'guide'? Are you talking about one of the
LDP manuals? I don't know where RedHat put them
on their CDs. The HTML (read 'accessible') versions
can either be read on line from various web sites, or
downloaded and read with your favorite browser locally.
Where are they?

Please don't scan that thing if you can get the HTML versions!

According to redhat, you can get a copy of that entire 350 page manual
from their ftp sight, under the terms of the ldp.

The manual that came with the Redhad version of Linux probably is the
printed Linux Documentation Project materials. That is, the same stuff
that's on the CDs.
