This may be a really obvious question, but is there a way I can set up either
emacs or emacspeak (I use both depending on a number of factors) so I can get my
line lengths right for the printer, or so that i will get a beep when i need to
end a line. right now i am going through documents (I have autofill on) and
finding the backslashes for the ends of lines and hitting enter accordingly, but
this is a waste of time.'
Thanks.
Cheryl

Hi,
You can set the fill column to some desirable value with c-u, a
numeric argument, and c-x f. Then, you can do 'fill-paragraph' or
'fill-region' to format the file.

I suggest doing things in a way that'll likely be much easier. Read up on
the fmt (1) command. It's just what you need.
