Subject: nasa tv, streaming audio video
Date: Mon, 04 Mar 2002 05:16:20 -0500 (EST) [thread overview]
Message-ID: <0GSG00EL11V87F@mtaout03.icomcast.net> (raw)
Yes, concast has taken over my life,
for cable television, and internet service.
They rearranged my cable channels, and ditched the nasa channel completely.
It's gone!
I enjoy listening to nasa,
so after writing a nasty note to comcast,
I downloaded realplayer and trplayer, and I now tap into
the live feed from ksc.
If others do this as well,
it wiill comsume more comcast resources than if they'd offered the tv channel,
but I guess that's their problem.
Here is my question.
It seems a shame to constantly download the video and throw it away,
a waste of bandwidth,
so I tapped into the audio stream instead.
But when I type b, for bandwidth,
the audio is 36kbps,
while the video is 20kbps.
Anyone know why the video+audio is smaller than the audio alone?
