Hi.  Aumix is a mixer to control the volume of the sources on your sound
card.  It was written for the OSS drivers.  The Gnome equivalent is the
Gnome volume control.  If you're using ALSA drivers, you will get better
results using alsamixer or alsamixer-gnome.  There are still some cases
when aumix is useful even with the ALSA drivers.
