Well I've finally done it. I finally installed RedHat Linux, and I've got
to tell you, I was impressed.
In the past, I have used both Slakware and Debian ith varying success.
One thing I found frustrating was setting up hardware and/or trying to find
answers to my many questions.
I installed RedHat this weekend using a speakup disk. It ook under half
an hour to install the core software. When I rebooted and installed my
brltty into the system, I discovered to my happiness that not only were my
network cards detected automatically, my Sound Blaster Live! card was also
found and configured.
I like the RPM style of installs and have found that configuring
anything on the system is quite easy. I have found a program called webmin
which lets you configure many parts of your system via your web browser;
quite nifty.
Well that's about it. Just thought I'd share my joyous event. Both of
my Linux boxes have not crashed since I started them, unlike other
graphically oriented, processor hog operating system, which will remain
nameless.
Regards,
Martin

all true no doubt.
I most however causion you, if you change any config-file by hand, that
change may well be lost at your next usage of any config-tools like the one
you describe below.
