Subject: how to put the asci character for a control g in my boot.txt file

I am wondering if some one can give me some pointer using Debian's nano how
to put an ascii character control g in my boot.txt so that it beeps when I
reboot the computer as I have two different setups. One for Emacspeak which
does not talk at all and one for Speakup and that beep would tell me when to
type in the correct keystrokes. Thanks for the help.
