Some weeks ago I got a good friend a Sirius Satelite Radio boombox. Well, as a
paying subscriber, I can listen to their music streams on a web site. However,
I run in to a brick wall because of java script and a media player. Sirius
claims they do not support or know anything about linux. I figure if I could
go directly to the exact urls of each of the streams, it would be fine.
Another friend tried in windows with Jaws--and its a combo box to select the
channel--and he did see the song titles.
So any way to listen in linux
www.sirius.com
Links 2 and 13 are for listening.
Yes, I already tried links with an i but it just ignored my enter key once I
was at the media player.
Thanks so much in advance
Hart

sometimes links needs you to press alt+l and use the follow link or submit
form option in hte links menu.
please try links 2.1pre15 (newest beta), i FOUND THAT THE JAVASCRIPT
SUPPORT IS BETTER THEN PREVIOUS VERSIONS.
oops sorry for the caps.
Anyway, to play them, use mplayer

The short answer is--no.
I just subscribed to Sirius myself and love it! But you can't listen
under Linux. Freedombox doesn't even do it, apparently, but not sure
if it should, which is why I didn't bring it up with them.
I've used the large full-screen player, which has each channel on a
link. That isn't the issue. You can't listen with links or lynx. You
need, not only a browser that will do javascript (which you need for a
*lot* of their site, as lot of their submit buttons are
javascripted links), but you'll also need something that will play
what appears to be an embedded flash player stream. It isn't
RealAudio, nor is it Windows Media. I can tell you that Melanie's
system, which runs Mozill and has the non-free Flash installed, plays
the streams OK, if a little broken up. So...unfortunately, you're outa
luck. Anyway, you only get the music streams online--you can't listen
to the talk streams, which is a shame.
